Angela Richards | Livermore, CA

AngelaI was 2 years old, when my grandmother was placed in a skilled nursing facility. That’s what sparked my interest in intergenerational work.

Since then, I worked with seniors several times a year doing crafts, holiday activities and caroling.

In 2014, I hosted a Healthy Living Expo, which shared information on healthy habits with older adults and the general public.

It also provided eager youth with tools to help them get their community on track with healthy living.

What made this project possible was the Mentor Up grant opportunity.

Angela's tipThere are so many skills I developed as result of this project. In addition to event planning and management, I learned how to work in a successful youth and adult partnership.
